What do you think God designed you to do?
To be silent and neat and polite in the pew?
To be timid and passive, afraid of the world?
Forgetting that to depths our pursuers are hurled?
No.
Take hold of the blessings bestowed from above.
Be made perfect in beauty and perfect in love.
If we feed on his Word and enjoy every crumb,
then they have nothing on us, the world’s overcome.
The Spirit will lead us, like a bit like a rudder.
His rule in our life makes the enemy shudder.
Don’t fear those who stone you but can’t touch your soul.
Trust God who first crafted you, then made you whole.
It’s not for our glory but his we were made,
so live out your purpose and don’t be afraid.
He calls you to make the truth known with your voice.
Wherever he calls you, then go and rejoice.
Whether adding up numbers, or sweeping the floor,
or painting a picture, your job may be more.
He designed the Grand Canyon, gave church bells their chime,
Don’t you know that he controls this mere moment in time?
He invented your talents and then gave them to you.
When loves rules your actions, then he’s working through you.
Don’t give evil for evil, don’t badmouth your boss.
Christ forgave his killers still in pain on the cross.
You can handle some laughter, awkwardness can be borne.
Eternal reward for a few minutes scorn.
Now whatever happens, you died once to sin,
Alive in the Father, you can’t die again.
