Maybe in heaven there’ll be a canoe
and tree swings and frisbee and volleyball too
with beautiful weather and plenty of friends
and the peace never stops and the joy never ends.
There’ll be enough time for communion, and when
you say “see you later”, you’ll see them again.
We’ll trust and we’ll share and we won’t lock the door
and you won’t be unsure what to say anymore.
We’ll all have a job and our work will be fun.
We’ll sing praise while we do it and praise when we’re done.
With a welcoming look or a warm, loving nod,
we’ll take walks together giving glory to God.
Things couldn’t get better and they’ll never get worse.
There’ll be no more scraped knees, no more trips to the nurse.
Oh the food, it’s delicious, to say the least.
Blessed are those who RSVP’d to the feast.
Some of this is conjecture – one thing that is known:
We’ll live by the light of the king on the throne.
Until then every Christian is your brother or sis.
Greet them with love and a smile and a kiss.
